John joined Covington Associates LLC in 2006 as part of the firm's expansion into the digital media and technology sectors. He brings over 20 years of experience in Research, Investment Banking and Technology Sales. He has represented both privately held and publicly traded companies, assisting them to evaluate their strategic alternatives, raise capital, execute mergers and acquisitions and perform valuation analysis.
Background
Prior to joining Covington, John was a Senior Vice President at Silverwood Partners, where he was principally responsible for developing and executing M & A and other advisory assignments in the Media Communications Technology Market. Previously, John was a Vice President in FAC/Equities in research, focused on media technology, communications hardware and software, and enterprise software companies. Earlier in his career, John was a sales executive at technology companies that include Sybase, McDonnell Douglas, and Digital Equipment Corporation. John has written several widely-quoted industry research reports and articles on digital media technology and is a well-known expert in the market. John received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire and his M.B.A with a concentration in Finance from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College.

John lives in Sherborn with his wife and three boys. He is an avid squash player and windsurfer and a closet guitarist.
